Li Wenliang, the doctor who warned the world about the Wuhan coronavirus has died.
The doctor was silenced by police shortly after informing his colleagues about the potentially lethal spread of the mutated novel coronavirus strain.
In December, Li Wenliang posted a message to a WeChat group made for alumni of his medical school.
There were several people who had eaten food from a local seafood market and were quickly admitted to a hospital with a SARS-like illness.
Wenliang reported the people were quarantined.
According to China, Li was an ophthalmologist in Wuhan and was exposed to the novel coronavirus. China also reports that he died from the virus early Thursday.
